Judging by the 141 entries of gobbledygook that popped up in my Comment queue just after midnight, I have to assume that one of you spammers has decided to spend the New Year being a baaaaaad boy. (That number is not an exaggeration, by the way.)
As for what I’m doing awake at this time, well… that’s between me and Sid and Marty Kroft, thank you very much!
Due to a death in the family, I won’t be able to publish “Ryan’s Dad” this week. I apologize for the break and appreciate your understanding.
So, say you’ve got this webcomic site and you’re starting to suspect you’ve been hacked. You were a little lax in upgrading and started getting some funky looking spam and your Archives page won’t show up.
Then you find a tool like looks for suspicious code on your site and it gives you a 75 page report, including an indication that someone may have installed a back door on your site. Do you: a) go through all the offending code and delete it by hand? Or b) Wipe it all out and rebuild the site?
I went with b). Happy Monday to Me. That, combined with the fact that my 20th wedding anniversary is Wednesday (Happy Anniversary to Us!) probably means there won’t be a Wednesday comic this week. Not for sure yet, but I’m still rebuilding the site so don’t hold your breath.

Yes, I’m back to ComicPress 2.8. I figured out that the problem was a simple as the Blog and Comic catagories being switched when I activated the 2.8 theme. Turns out to be a pretty easy fix, so I’m here for the duration. I’m sure there’ll be more tweaks as I get the hang of this.
I feel better already.
I’ve gone back to ComicPress 2.5 because not all comics were showing up in 2.8. I think I know what the issue is, I just need to find the time to correct it. In the meantime, the custom header is still gone. But I still plan to have a new comic for Monday. (Since I’m in the middle of a story, that would be a good thing to do!)
