Thank you, Todd. The toughest part right now is adjusting to Buddy not being in the house. He had a habit of following me EVERYWHERE. If I went to the bedroom, he'd follow me there (and he'd sleep there with us). If I went to the den to draw, he'd come in and lay down behind me. If I was on the computer, he'd stick his head under the desk beside me. I'd long ago gotten use to looking around when I'd stand up, to be sure I wasn't about to trip over him or something. Today was a really tough day for me and my wife, but we've gotten through it.

So sorry for your loss. They are members of the family and when you have to put them down it's hard. I found myself praying a lot of times that they'd just pass in their sleep, but loyal to the end they stay strong for you even when they are weak. Just remember the good times you had with Buddy and I hope that gives you comfort as you go through this time of grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you adjust to not having him around.

This is a side of Kat we haven't seen before and something tells me Davis won't be sharing that particular side with your loyal readers.

My fear would be that in my moment of rush while I tried to text a photo of my unmentionable area to my spouse I would instead accidentally send it to my boss. Talk about an awkward moment, especially if he in turn sent one back. :)

I like MAUDE. Whenever I think of Bea Arthur, Maude is what comes to mind. A more richer character than GG's Dorothy and that show has probably one of the best TV theme songs ever (I'm hearing the hammond organ in my head as I type this). Glad it has found a home on Antenna TV. As I reread this strip, I'll now hear Bea Arthur's voice coming out of Davis's mouth.

Old man moment: Reading this strip again after uploading it, I was reminded of an episode of "Maude" that ended with Bea Arthur's character calling her husband a "son of a bitch." It was considered such a controversial thing at the time. Now, not only is that barely remembered, but if you mention Bea Arthur to people, they think "Golden Girls". That seems to say something about something but I'm not sure what.
