Yes, I’m old enough to remember when “The Odd Couple” was on ABC. ( I was NOT there for it’s original Broadway run. And it’s mean of you to think so.) The show had so many great guest stars, hilarious episodes and killer punch lines (“I’ve got to destroy Nosenstein” always makes me laugh, even out of context like this.)
And there are parts of this show that are still embedded in the collected consciousness. The following video clip is one of them. This is the first time I can ever remember hearing this bit of wisdom (you can skip to about the final minute of the clip if you want, but why not enjoy the whole thing?):
I’ll bet there are plenty of people around who’ve said this and had no idea where it came from. (If anybody knows an early appearance of this line, let me know. I’m really curious.)
